Biography

A WORD FROM THE ARTIST…

In my career as a professional artist, I have concentrated on originals and realism. As time passes, I find that my work is becoming more relaxed, maybe even more impressionistic and romantic. I have discovered that painting in the abstract is very rewarding as well.

Working in oils and acrylics on stretched canvas is my preferred mode of expression. I also enjoy water colors, pen and ink, and pencil renderings and have even sculpted and poured bronzes. A challenge delights me. I am always open to new ideas and techniques. I have often been commissioned to create a variety of different subjects using various avenues of expression and materials.

Usually, as a starting point, I paint from photographs that I have taken while traveling. I rarely paint on site, but enjoy the occasional chance to sit outside and create a piece. Authenticity is not as important to me as the romance and the feel of the painting. It is rewarding to become a part of my work as I tend to become one with the subject so much so that I forget time and space. Oftentimes, I paint all day and all night, losing track of time.

For me, life is ever changing, always challenging, but fun. I am thankful to God for his many blessings and for the incredible creation all around us that is such a great source of inspiration to me.
